Rod Bearup's large scale copper enamel sculpture is the product of years of development. He has independently developed new techniques in the use of water based enamels on three dimensional welded constructions. These techniques have allowed him to create a new aesthetic in welded metal sculpture.

My art's form and direction is guided by two underlying beliefs. One, that art, handcraft and life are continuous. That is, both the execution of creativity, as well as the observation and appreciation of the object is an inherent part of human experience. And secondly, I'm committed to create intellectually accessible and vernacular forms which celebrate the natural world. I hope the joy and passion I experience in trying to capture the spirit and action of my subjects brings a similar response too others as well.
