A childhood with a lot of love and little money. Away to college and quit after a year. Protected our country from the West Germans for two years in Europe during the Vietnam war era. Didn't grow up yet. Tried college again, quit. Found temporary solace as hippie. Fell into a tool and die apprenticeship and flourished. Never made sculptures from the junk saved under work bench. Continued for 22 dissatisfied years as journeyman, superintendent, engineer, designer and nature lover (after being wowed by cormorants on a causeway in Nova Scotia). Found adventurous love of my life willing to share her life as well as her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. Quit career. Found 80 acres in heaven. Moved to the woods in northern Michigan. Rediscovered life at 44 years old. Observed nature. Began making sculpture. Lived in a tent for ten years. Built a studio. Rediscovered extensive skills in metalworking. Built home. Developed new skills. Practiced, practiced, practiced…..
